Cultivating a culture of giving

M.D.C. Holdings’ Chairman and CEO, Larry A. Mizel, always looked for ways to give back to the community, even as the owner of a growing business in the ’70s. As the company grew, building stronger communities became just as important as building homes under the Richmond American Homes name.

In 1999, donations were taken to the next level with the formation of the MDC/Richmond American Homes Foundation, which quickly became the main vehicle for making a difference.

Over the years, the Foundation’s impact has steadily grown as we’ve funded worthy causes both in our own backyard and across the globe. Whether it’s sending aid to a women’s shelter, supporting educational opportunities for at-risk youth or contributing funds to preserve and enhance local parks, every cause we support is focused on one thing: laying a sustainable foundation for a brighter tomorrow—for everyone.
